A Growatt solar inverter datasheet read row by row on two real units, the SPF 5000 ES and the MOD 10KTL3-X: which rows size the array, the load and the battery.
A solar inverter datasheet is one page of rows, and most buyers read three of them: the power, the efficiency, the weight. The rows that decide whether the unit suits your roof are further down. This guide reads a Growatt datasheet from top to bottom on two real units from our catalogue — the off-grid SPF 5000 ES and the three-phase on-grid MOD 10KTL3-X — and says what each row is for. Every figure is the record's own.
Where the datasheets are
Each Growatt family has one datasheet page here, listed in the datasheets index. The SPF 5000 ES is on the SPF 3000–5000 ES datasheet and the MOD 10KTL3-X on the MOD 3–15KTL3-X datasheet. A family page carries every model of the family, which matters when you read a row — more on that below.

The PV input block: it sizes your strings
Three rows decide how many panels go in a string, and the panel's own datasheet supplies the other half of each sum.
- The highest DC voltage is a ceiling for the string's open-circuit voltage. With a module whose own sheet states a Voc of 50 V, nine modules reach 450 V — the SPF 5000 ES limit exactly, with nothing left for a cold morning, when Voc rises. Eight is the string. The MOD 10KTL3-X, at 1100 V, takes strings more than twice as long.
- The MPPT range is where the inverter actually works. A string whose operating voltage falls under 120 V on the SPF, or under 140 V on the MOD, produces nothing useful.
- Max. input current per tracker is compared with the module's current: 22 A on the SPF, 13 A on the MOD.
Then the power row closes the sum. Eight 550 W modules are 4,400 W, inside the SPF's 6,000 W array limit. The MOD's row says "recommended" and allows 15,000 W on a 10,000 W inverter: an on-grid unit is routinely given more panel than its AC rating.
The AC output block: it sizes your loads
Rated or nominal AC power is what the unit carries continuously. An off-grid unit adds a row an on-grid unit never has: surge power, 10,000 VA on the SPF 5000 ES, which is what lets a compressor start. It also states a transfer time — 10 ms typical, 20 ms maximum — the gap when it switches source. The MOD states neither, because it never runs loads alone; its block lists the grid it connects to instead, 3W+N+PE at 230/400 V, with a maximum output current of 16.7 A.
The battery rows: they decide the pairing
On-grid string inverters have no battery block. Battery-ready and hybrid units do, and it reads differently from unit to unit:
- The MIN 6000TL-XH names its battery — "ARK XH Battery System (5.1kWh~17.9kWh)" — with an operating voltage range of 360–550 V and 6,000 W of charge and discharge power.
- The SPH 10000TL-HU names no model; it states a range, 40–60 V, at up to 200 A, for lithium or lead-acid.
- The SPF 5000 ES states charging currents instead: 100 A maximum from solar and 80 A from the AC input.
A battery's sheet answers with its own voltage rows. If its range sits inside the inverter's, the two can be paired.
Efficiency, protection degree and temperature
Efficiency is not one number. The MOD gives a maximum (98.6%) and a European efficiency (98.1%), the second being a weighted figure across load levels; the SPF gives one figure, a peak of 93%. Compare a maximum with a maximum, never with a weighted figure.
The protection degree tells you where the unit may be mounted. IP20 on the SPF 5000 ES means a dry indoor room; IP66 on the MOD means it can face dust and water outdoors. The operating temperature row matters in the Gulf: 0–55 °C for the SPF, −25 to +60 °C for the MOD.
When a row holds more than one value
Family sheets do this constantly, and it is the commonest way to misread one. The SPF 5000 ES record's dimension row reads "280/125/435mm / 330/135/485mm / 280/125/435mm": three sets, because the sheet covers three models. The SPH 10000TL-HU states its MPP voltage range as "150V-450V/370V" — a range and a second figure in one cell. Do not pick the one you like; read each against the model you are buying, and where the record gives two figures for one unit, plan for both.
Using what you have read
To weigh two units row against row without two browser tabs, the comparison tool lines their records up — the MIN 10000TL-X against the MOD 10KTL3-X is the single-phase-or-three-phase question at 10 kW. And if the rows you care about are the ones that depend on your own load, the sizing calculator starts from your appliances and returns the inverter and battery whose rows fit. A datasheet states no price: the price is on the product page, and it is the price you pay.
