Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us — name, email, phone, project location and inquiry details — when you place a Growatt order or fill in our contact form. We also collect technical data such as IP address, browser type and device information when you visit growatinverter.com.
Cookies & Tracking
Three kinds of cookie run on this site: the essential ones that keep the pages and the cart working, a preference cookie that holds your language choice, and analytics cookies that count traffic and show us where visitors arrive from. Your browser settings can clear or block them, and blocking the non-essential ones leaves the catalogue fully usable. Past the cookies, we also record the behaviour of each visit: how long you stay on a page and how much of that time you are actually active, how far you scroll and how quickly you move through the text, how long it takes before your first interaction, which items you hover over and for how long, what you click and where on the screen that click landed — the position is kept as a coordinate so clicks can be pooled into aggregate heatmaps — along with clicks that repeat or achieve nothing, pinch-zooms, text you highlight outside form fields, printing, right-clicks, and spells on another tab. We record the words you type into the site search and the filters you set. On forms we record which field you entered, how long it held you and whether you left it empty; we never record what you typed into it, and password and payment fields are excluded from the mechanism entirely. A first-party cookie labels the browser — not you as a person — for up to two years, so a returning buyer is recognised and the channel that first brought you here is not lost. Your location comes from your IP address and stops at city level; we never ask for or use your device satellite position. We also collect page speed measurements, JavaScript errors, images that failed to load, and your device graphics chip and processor core count, so we can find the pages that behave badly on the hardware people in your market actually own. In the system builder, the comparison tool, the cart and the datasheet downloads we record the options you pick, the quantities you set and the point at which you stop. From your browser language and time zone we infer a likely type of buyer; that guess is used only for grouped reporting and never changes the price or the terms you are shown. That time zone is also read for something else: to work out whether the law where you are makes us ask before measuring. In most of our markets it does not, the banner never appears, and measurement starts with the first page you open. Finally, when you tap a phone or email link, or send any form, the details you enter are recorded and passed to our sales team together with the context of that visit — the page you were on, how you engaged with it, your device and your approximate city — so whoever answers you already knows what you were looking at. The analytics cookies named above are Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, and what they hold is pseudonymous rather than anonymous: it sits under the same browser identifier, not under your name. No advertising cookie runs today; the cookie banner asks about advertising anyway, so adding one later does not mean asking everyone again. Where consent is required before measurement, the banner asks first and nothing is measured until you answer, while the essential cookies run regardless and are not offered as a choice. Your answer keeps for 180 days in a cookie named _dcc — clear this site's data and the banner asks again — and the answer itself is filed with us: the date, the brand and market you answered on, the language you were reading, how you answered, and the pseudonymous visitor identifier, kept 790 days so we can show what was chosen and when.
Third-Party Services
We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. What they collect is pseudonymous, not anonymous: it is tied to an identifier that marks a browser for up to two years. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Our sales portal at xyz.solarinstaller.ae — the same company's order and customer system — receives your order, the phone number you verify, your email and the actions you take on this site (pages viewed, searches, cart and contact requests), so our sales team can process your order and follow it up on WhatsApp. It does not receive your IP address.
Data Protection
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmissions are encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols. We retain your data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy.
Your Rights
Regardless of your location, you have the right to: (1) Access the personal data we hold about you. (2) Correct any inaccurate information. (3) Request deletion of your personal data. (4) Opt out of marketing communications. (5) Request a copy of your data in a portable format. (6) Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for: (1) Account and order data — 7 years as required under UAE law. (2) Contact form inquiries — 2 years. (3) Analytics and behaviour records — 26 months, then deleted automatically rather than kept on anonymised. (4) Marketing preferences — until you unsubscribe.
